Ashli McGough was born on March 6, 1988 to George McGough and Evelyn McGough. From the very beginning, Ashli had a vibrant spirit and a presence that naturally drew people to her.
At an early age, Ashli accepted Christ and carried that foundation of faith with her throughout her life. She was raised with a deep appreciation for family, loyalty, and love for the people closest to her.
Ashli attended schools in both the Kansas City, Missouri and Kansas City, Kansas school districts, where she proudly represented F. L. Schlagle High School. Even during her school years, Ashli’s bold personality, confidence, and natural charisma made her someone people remembered.
Ashli’s compassionate heart led her into healthcare, where she worked as a caregiver in home health care. She did more than perform a job; she poured herself into the work. Ashli showered her patients with compassion, comfort, cleanliness, and genuine care, making sure they felt respected, safe, and valued.
Ashli was loud, vivacious, bold, beautiful, and charismatic. To be around her was always a good time and she had a way of bringing smiles and laughter wherever she went. She loved fashion and took pride in her appearance, often stepping out in style and confidence. Ashli was also a congratulator. She celebrated the successes of others, whether it was a bold look, a personal accomplishment, or a professional milestone. She was fiercely loyal and did not play about the people she loved.
Above all, Ashli was a mother first. Her children were the center of her world and she loved them deeply. She would do anything for them. She was also deeply loyal to her family and close friends, standing firmly beside the people she cared about.
Ashli was preceded in death by her father, George McGough; her paternal grandmother, Clara Goldsby; and her maternal grandmother, Bessie Hawthorne.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her children, Eleah McGough and Brandon Martin; her loving mother, Evelyn McGough; her siblings Benard Crawford Jr. (Trina), Gerald McGough, Joshua McGough (Shalonda), and Katina McGough; along with a host of family members, friends, and loved ones who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
Ashli’s laughter, bold spirit, and unforgettable presence filled every room she entered. Now that she is gone, the room feels quieter and the world feels a little emptier, but the love she gave and the memories she created will remain with those who knew and loved her forever.
