Life’s Reflection
Ardelia Cheatom was born August 25, 1930 in Indianola Mississippi to the late Tom Stevenson and Arquilla Adams, she attended the Public-School System in Indianola, Mississippi.
Ardelia accepted God as her Lord and Savior at the age of sixteen, under the leadership of the late Rev. Coleman. She was employed as a Private Home Professional and Teacher Assistant.
Ardelia was married to the late Mr. B. J. Taylor, and to this union one son was born. She later married the late Mr. William Cheatom.
Ardelia was a longtime faithful member that served on the Mother Board at the Greater New Day Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi under the leadership of Rev. James Winford. She loved going to church and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
All of her siblings preceded her in death which included six brothers and two sisters; two sons, Mr. Michard Taylor and Master Willie Cheatom.
Ardelia leaves behind to cherish her loving memories six daughters, Ollie Cheatom; Vernada Cheatom; Aretha Jackson all of Kansas City, Kansas; Ruth Adams of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Dorothy Smith and Arnita Jackson of Jackson, Mississippi; seven sons, William Cheatom (Cathy); David Cheatom (Andrea); Walter Jackson (Pat) all of Kansas City, Kansas; Anthony Cheatom (Rose) of Kansas City, Missouri; Mack Jackson (Nena); Edward Cheatom and Jeffery Jackson of Jackson, Mississippi, she leaves fifty-one grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; other family members and friends.
