Anita Lorriane Jappa

Anita Lorraine Jappa, 82, passed away on August 29, 2023, at her home in Kansas City, Kansas. She was born on August 29, 1941, in Kansas City, MO to Harold G. Hayes and Erma Hayes.

Anita grew up in Kansas City, KS. She graduated from Summer High School in Kansas City, KS in 1959. After high school, she attended Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS. She began work for USDA where she worked until she retired in 2001.

Anita married James Jappa in 1964 in Pittsburg, KS. They were happily married for 49 years. Anita enjoyed caregiving to her family, shopping, sewing, and spending time with family.

She was preceded in death by her parents Harold G. Hayes and Erma Hayes; her husband James Jappa.

Anita is survived by her daughter Deborah Jappa and her sons, James Jappa, Anthony Jappa and Reginald Jappa of Kansas City, Kansas; her grandchildren, Jontal High, Ashley Jappa, Nicolas Jackson, James W. Jappa; her great grandchildren Jay ’Lin High, Julianna Hill, Rayelle Jappa, Justice Hill and Jace Hill.
