Andrew Aaron “Sonny” Davis, Sr

Andrew was born on April 23, 1932 in Kansas City, Kansas. He was the oldest child born to William Davis and Tessie Mae Johnson.  He was preceded in death by both parents, two brothers: Eddie and Theodore (Ted) and one sister: Gloria (Doby); two sons: Darthell Davis and Andrew Davis, Jr.  He was blessed with seven children.

He received his education at the Kansas City, Kansas Elementary and high schools. Andrew enlisted in the U. S. Army and proudly served for 4 years.  He fought in the Korean War and received a bronze metal during his service. He was employed by S & G Metal Corporation and retired from the Mendel’s Dress Manufacturing Company.  After retirement he worked as a part-time security guard for the Davis Security Agency, until his health began to fail.  He received Christ and was baptized at an early age at the Mount Cavalry Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kansas.

Andrew loved watching western movies, playing bid whiz cards and dominoes. He always loved having a good time with family and friends. 

He will be missed by his loving family and friends. He leaves to cherish his memory two sons: Adrian (Linda) Davis of Overland Park, Ks., Darryl Davis, North Hollywood, Ca., Patrick Parker, Kansas City, Mo., Bryan Clayton, Poteau, Oklahoma, and daughter: Annzetta M. Davis, Kansas City, Ks.; siblings: William (Essie) Davis  of Kansas City, Ks., and Robert Davis of  Austell, Georgia; Donald (Zella) Davis; sisters: Patricia Baker, Loretta Davis, Cynthia Hernandez all of Kansas City, Ks. A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
