Alice Fay Bowles-Porter was born on October 2, 1943 the first child to Emmett and Earsie Butler-Bowles in Kansas City, Kansas. Her parents and brother proceeded her in death. Alice went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 9 at St. Luke Hospice.
She attended Grant Elementary, Northeast Junior High and graduated from Sumner High School in 1961.
After graduation her first job was working for National Bella Hess in North Kansas City. Her longest tenure was working for the Social Security Administration for 42 years retiring in 2013.
Alice married Ernest Lee Porter on August 25, 1968 this union was later dissolved.
Alice had a God given talent that enabled her to drawn anything. She loved to listen to classical music and watch old westerns in black and white or color.
She accepted Christ in 1955 when she joined Walnut Boulevard and served in several ministries and in the last 10 years before her health failed she sang in the choir.
She found comfort the last five years in the care of Johnsonville Boarding Home were she received exceptional care.
Alice leaves to mourn her transition to a higher calling her sister, Emogene Williams; her nieces Angela Ford and Michelle Williams; great nephew, Stephon Ford; great great nephew Aidyn Ford; and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
