Celebration of Life

Adoria Talley was born in Kansas City, Kansas on April 14, 1948 to Thomas and Geneva Jones Allen. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Allen; and her best friend Doris Lockhart. 

Adoria was educated in Kansas City Kansas Public School District. After graduating, she met and married George Bright Jr. and they had two children from this union, Carla and Carmen. She later gave birth to two sons Michael and Vincent. She met and married Jerry Talley to whom she was married for 32 years until her death. There were no children from this union. She worked several years in the airline industry and as a healthcare administrator and court clerk before retiring in 1999.  

Adoria accepted Christ at a young age and loved attending church and reading the bible. She joined New Bethel Church under the leadership of Bishop A. Glen Brady. She was a prayer warrior to many within her neighborhood, church family and to her friends. She never met a stranger and prayed for and with all that she came into contact with to bring souls to Christ. She had a scripture prepared for any situation. She enjoyed traveling, reading, laughing and loved being surrounded by her family and friends. Adoria departed this life on June 4, 2020. 

She is survived her loving husband, Jerry Talley; her children, Carmen Bright; Carla Bright; Michael Bright (Christi); Vincent Friends (Natasha); and her mother, Geneva Allen. 

She also leaves to cherish her memory her grandchildren, Amber Jordan (Zachary); Alayna Hawkins (Eddie); Lionna Hawkins (Leon); Jeffery Bright (Racila); Vincent Friends; Michael Bright II; Gabriel Bright; Viance Friends; Christopher Bright; and Avion Griswold. She was also blessed to have 4 great grandchildren, Jaida Hawkins; Brooklyn Kirkendoll; Eddie Williams, Jr.; and Dillon Heard. Four siblings, her brothers, Najee Diaab (Suwad), Lloyd D. Wagner and Leroy Allen, and one sister, Sarah Friday (Oscar). Her nephews, Eugene Lee; Thomas Allen; Chaka Allen; Leroy Lockhart; Mark & Kim Henderson; and five nieces, Tommi Allen; Charity Washington; Keanna Allen; Vanessa Tyler; and Althea Henderson.  She also leaves a host of other family and friends. 

Adoria will be sadly missed by all who loved and knew her.
