On September 21st, 1943, Taft Howard Dodd and Juanita Butler-Dodd welcomed their fifth child, Anthony Lee Dodd into the world. In early life, he joined Pleasant Green Baptist church and was educated in the Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools and graduated from Sumner High School in 1961.
Following graduation, he was drafted into the US Army stationed in Germany; after touring he returned home to the states where he began learning auto mechanics from Selectman Auto Body. Following auto mechanics; Anthony achieved his private pilot certificate for small commercial flights. Continuing into the workforce he was employed by General Motors. Leaving GM, he received his license for real estate and appraising. Being the entrepreneur he was, he also owned a silver and arts shop as well as Dodd’s retail liquor.
In 1967 Anthony wed Willie Harris-Dodd and to this union was born Lee Anne Dodd. The love he had for his mother and family was unwavering and unlike any other. He is proceeded in death by his mother and father as well as three sisters and one brother. He leaves to cherish his memories daughters Lee Anne (William) and Jessica (Fikre), and son Rickey and five grandchildren; Siblings Dr. Howard T., Fredrick (Spencer), Graig (Josefina), Sandra Derritt (Paul), Eva Cowan (Leon), Brenda Singleton, and a host of nieces and nephews and a lifelong brother George Crump.
