Anthony “Pookie” Cobbins was born January 7, 1957, in Kansas City Kansas to the late John W & Rosie L Cobbins. Anthony departed life on Saturday, May 4, 2024, surrounded by family.
Anthony was proceeded in death by both parents John & Rosie, (1) Sister, Marie (2) Brothers John, Jr and Robert Earl.
Anthony attended Welborn Elementary, Coronado Junior High and Washington High School. He graduated in May 1975. After high school he joined the United States Air Force January 15, 1976. He was discharged as Airman First Class on June 24, 1977.
After returning home from the military he married Denise Sayles and to the union one son was born Anthony, Jr. The marriage was later dissolved.
Anthony later married Roxanna on January 6, 2013, but were together for 33 years.
Anthony had several different employments Ford Motor Co, Tyson Construction, RECO Construction, and Unified Government Parks & Recreation.
Anthony enjoyed watching wrestling, listening to old-school music, and most of all watching the Kansas City Chiefs (a huge fan). GO CHIEFS!!!
Anthony was baptized at Rising Star Baptist Church by Rev. E A Johnson on August 13, 1961.
Anthony leaves to cherish his life and legacy – Sons Anthony (Melinda) Cobbins Jr, Anthony Mitchell, Bobby Scott all of Kansas City, Ks, Michael Durham Jr (Kendra) Blue Springs, Mo., Daughter Bessica Lampkin – KCMO, Brother Ralph E Cobbins of Vacaville, Calif, - Sister Mabeline (Elbert) Gordon, Kansas City, Ks, 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
