Wendell M. Guess departed this life on Saturday May 4, 2019 to awake in Heaven with his Lord and Savior and twin brother.  They were INSEPARABLE!

Wendell was born July 26, 1988 in Kansas City, Kansas to Michael Sr. and Yolanda Guess, Wendell accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of Rev. C.L. Bachus.  He sang in the Youth Choir and was active in the Youth department.

He was educated in the Kansas City Kansas Public Schools, graduating from F.L. Schlagle High School, class of 2006.  As a youth, he played for the Red Sox’s Little League baseball team.  Wendell was employed at Saint Luke’s Hospital and The Whole Person as a caregiver for his twin brother.  He loved playing basketball in his grandparent’s backyard with his cousins, uncles, and friends.  He also loved cheering on his Raiders and Duke Blue Devils.  While he loved these things, his favorite thing to do was spend time with his family, especially his daughter Alaya.  Family meant everything to Wendell.

Wendell was preceded in death by his twin brother, Michael; grandparents, Wendell and Gloria Searcy; Dickie Sr. and Margaret Guess; two aunts, Bobbie Lavender and Glenda White and one uncle, Reginald Guess.

He leaves to cherish his memories of 30 years his devoted parents, Michael Sr. and Yolanda Guess; his daughter, Alaya Guess; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; godparents, Joann Johnson and Charles Green; special friends, Sandy Rogers; Candice Wilson; Ciesha (Bre) Grant; and Kila Thomas.
