Tasha Howard Obituary

Portrait of Tasha

Tasha Denise blossomed into this world on April 24, 1993 along with her fraternal twin Dijonnaise Gail in St. Louis, Mo. from the union of Carmen Miaze and Galen King.  Tasha, her twin and the other siblings were later adopted by the late Letticia A. Howard; and Paul D. Howard.  Also preceding her in death are her aunt, Kathy McIntosh; uncle, Clifton A. Latting Jr.; and grandmother, Grace Howard.

Tasha’s elementary and middle school education were received from the Blue Springs School District.  In 2007 Tasha and her family moved to Phoenix, Arizona where she attended and graduated from Westview High School in Phoenix.  At Westview, Tasha was a member of the track team, debate team and drama club.

Tasha continued to further her education by absorbing material from online classes.  Tasha also had a sincere interest in cosmetology and eventually enrolled and graduated from Empire Cosmetology School in Phoenix, Arizona.  She accomplished all this while being a caregiver for her now deceased mother Letticia Howard.

Tasha was first introduced to the Lord through the tutelage of her mother Letticia and was later baptized in this house, Greater Pentecostal Temple under the leadership of Bishop Marvin E. Donaldson on May 25, 2003.  Tasha was extremely active in a variety of youth ministries including the Youth Usher Board, being one of the first members of the GPT Children’s Dance Ministry and the step dance team, “Stepping Into the Anointing”.

Even after moving to Arizona, Tasha continued her service to the Lord by attending Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church along with her parents and other siblings under the tutelage of Bishop Alexis Thomas.  She especially loved to attend her Sunday School class, taught by Alvin Battle.  She also travelled to various camps and outings with the Youth Ministry.

The love of Jesus was shown through Tasha’s actions, demeanor and attitude.  She was a loving, selfless and caring young woman who always placed others before herself.  She loved to participate in family gatherings with cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.  In addition to family trips to California, she also travelled to New York with Sister Loretta and the Youth Dance Ministry.  Tasha was so impressed with New York City that she often mentioned wanting to live there some day.

Tasha also loved to party and express herself in song and dance.  Her last display of her talent was at her father’s birthday party on Halloween.  In between handing out candy to visiting children, Tasha warmed the atmosphere with her presence, her love and her spirit.

She leavers to cherish her memory Paul Howard, her father, her sisters Kathryn McBeth, Dijonnaise, Quotia, Alajeda and Farrell Horton, nephews Zevion, Za’Davious, Jaden and Malachi nieces Zuri, Kadiatu, Emerie, cousins, other relatives and friends.
