Life’s Reflection of
Robert Lee Brown, Sr.
Born on April 5th, 1937, in Barberton, Ohio, to Sellers and Ruth Brown and being the 3rd of 14 children, he lived in the Ohio area. After graduating from West High school in Akron Ohio, he joined the US Army at the age of 17. He served his country during the Korean war until he was honorably discharged in 1957. After returning to Akron, he briefly united with Caroline Bradley and had sons Robert, Jr.(deceased) and Mark. Through the years, he worked at Ford Motor Company for a total of 32 years. He relocated to the Chicago, Illinois area and met his wife Sylvia Kimbrough. After marrying, they had 3 children Wesley, Steven and Wendy. He returned to Akron with his family and became an ordained minister through the People’s Baptist Church of Akron Ohio. He later went on to become pastor of the Israelite Baptist Church in Akron.
Pastor Robert L. Brown, age 81, died at home surrounded by his beloved family and friends in Kansas City, Kansas Friday November 16th, 2018.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Brown, his parents, Sellers Brown, Sr. and Ruth Brown, his siblings, Sellers (Coy) Brown, Zellers Brown, Leonard Brown, Minnie Brown, Richard Brown and his son, Robert Brown, Jr.
Survivors include his children Mark Brown, Wesley (Michelle) Brown, Steven (Frederica) Brown and Wendy (Brett) Wayne; his siblings, Howard (Loretta) Brown, Pastor Gus (Elaine) Brown, Sr., Rev. Wayne (Mary) Brown, Harold (Connie) Brown, Vance Brown, Rev. Glenn (Leslie) Brown, Elizabeth (Fred) Rollins, Ruth (Henry) Johnson and a host of nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
