Life’s Reflection
Lucille Curtis was born the eldest of ten children on November 10, 1940 to Maggie Lee (Hill) Watson and Amos Watson, Sr. in Portland, Arkansas. She attended Tillis School in Arkansas. She later married Wardell Curtis, Sr. and to this union one child was born, James Wardell Curtis, Jr...
She moved to St. Louis, Missouri where she lived and worked for a while. She later moved to Kansas City, Kansas and was able to locate employment immediately at Trinity Lutheran Hospital. She was gainfully employed there for thirty years, until the hospital permanently closed their doors on November 22, 2001. Being a valued employee Lucille did not lose one day of employment. She was recruited by KU Medical Center where she retired. Because of her strong work ethics, the physicians whom she worked for asked for her availability to work part-time. She gladly did so and remained there working at KU until the day she went from labor to reward.
She accepted Christ as her Savior and Jesus Christ at an early age. Lucille Curtis loved the Lord and she demonstrated her love in Praise and Worship and in her service for her
Lord. Lucille Curtis joined Third Street Missionary Baptist Church (which is now known as Third Missionary Baptist Church) in January of 1981 under the leadership of Pastor Mack McConnell, Jr. visionary, organizer and Pastor.
She was a committed faithful laborer one you could count on who served wherever she was needed.
