Kevin’s Life Reflections

Kevin Jewel Mebane was born on December 24, 1955 in Kansas City, Ks to the late Mr. & Mrs. Jewel and Claretta Mebane to this union four children were born Kevin; Roxanne; Darius (Dewey); and Claretta (Suggie).  Kevin accepted Christ at an early age.  Kevin attended Kansas City Public Schools, and excelled academically his high school years at Sumner High School. He worked as a School Bus Driver for many years for the Kansas City Public School District where he was known around town.

Kevin enjoyed a variety of things such as singing, listening to music, making cd’s, selling cd’s, barbequing, traveling, taking photos, throwing parties, and family gatherings. He was known as the “Music Man”. He would always try to make his girls into the next singing group and when they didn’t want to do it, he tried it with his nieces and granddaughters. He loved old school music and will always be remembered as a great father; husband; grandfather; uncle; cousin; and friend.

Kevin departed his life on Sunday June 11, 2017 at the age of 61. Kevin is preceded in death by his mother and father, his sister, Roxanne Davis; and his grandmother, Millie Wilson all of Kansas City Kansas.

He leaves to cherish his memory four loving daughters, Nakia (Kay) Hamilton; LaShanda Todd (Allen); Monica Murry (Aaron); and Jenna Eatmon all of Kansas City; nine granddaughters; five grandsons; one brother, Darius Mebane (Michelle); and one sister, Claretta Shaw (Charles); a very special uncle, “Uncle Clay” and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
