Life’s Reflection
Jeremiah McCloyn, Sr. 82 was born on April 12, 1936 in Lake Village, Arkansas to Saul and Victoria (Livingston) McCloyn. He departed this life on July 14, 2018.
He attended schools in Lake Village, Arkansas.
Jeremiah married Bernadine Davis on July 21, 1954 in Kansas City, Kansas, to this union five children were born. They were happily married for fifty-eight years. He was affectionately known, as Baby Boy. He cherished his wife, family, church, and lodge brothers. Jeremiah loved the Blues.
Jeremiah worked several years at Armourdale Auto Parts. He then worked for St. Agnes Catholic School until his retirement in 1994.
He joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church in 1968. He served as the President of the Usher Board for several years. He was a faithful member of Mr. Zion Baptist Church, until his health failed.
Jeremiah joined the Progress Lodge #77 MW Prince Hall Grand Lodge, F.&A.M. of Kansas and Jurisdiction, on April 30, 1968. He was elected Worshipful Master in 1976. He was granted the Gold Award attesting to his Masonic Light for 50 years of continuous service.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Saul and Victoria McCloyn; wife, Bernadine Davis McCloyn; brothers, Saul, John, Naimon, and Jessie McCloyn; his sister, Alice McCloyn; and his daughter, Terry McCloyn-Walton.
He is survived by his children, Joyce Fortune (Rene) of Kansas City, Kansas; Phyllis Howard of Kansas City, Missouri; Jeremiah McCloyn, Jr. of Kansas City, Kansas; Juan Dameron of Little Rock, Arkansas; Anthony McCloyn (Della) of Savannah, Georgia; his sisters, Edith Keys of Kansas City, Kansas; Mildred Hooper of St. Louis, Missouri; his brothers, James C. (Grace) of Long Beach, California; Rudy (Helen) of Gresham, Oregon; his grandchildren, great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives.
