Life’s Reflection
Jacquelyn Lorraine Peters departed this life January 12, 2018.
Jacquelyn was born May 24, 1947 in Kansas City, Kansas to the union of Simon and Estella Fouse, both parents preceded her in death.
She attended the Kansas State School for the Blind graduating in 1966 and continued her education at Wright Business School. She was a very active long-time member of the National Federation of the Blind, KC Cares Blind outreach and Friends of Wolfner Library Board Member for six years.
Jacquelyn had several jobs over the years and retired from Alphapointe in 2005.
At an early age Jacquelyn declared her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, uniting with Antioch Missionary Baptist Church later joining Trinity AME Church where she was a devoted member for over fifty years until her health began to fail. She loved her Church, she served faithfully in the Sanctuary Choir, Allen Ferguson Women’s Mission Society, Modern Matrons, Communion Steward Board and the Sumner Sunday Committee where she declared herself an honorary Sumnerite.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Jason Cochran; four grandchildren, Jason Cochran, Jr.; Jeremiah Cochran; Dyamond Wingate; and Vaniquea Wingate; two siblings, Beverly Jordan; Michael Fouse; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
