Life’s Reflections

Isaac Holmes, Jr. 86, passed away on December 9, 2017 at home in Kansas City Kansas. He was born March 11, 1931 in Kansas City Kansas to Isaac Holmes, Sr. and Olivia Dillon Holmes. Isaac grew up in Kansas City Kansas and went to school at Vernon High school.

He began work for the Union Pacific Rail Road where he worked for 40 plus years. Isaac enjoyed being a member of the Optimus Club where he served for many years.

Isaac married Frances in 1964 and happily married for 53 years. Isaac was a member of Allen Chapel AME Church where he was as a faithful member.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Olivia Holmes; one brother, James “Buddy” Holmes; seven sisters, Nettie Walton, Elma Barnett, Mary De Moss, Rosie Depriest, Ouline Gossorand, Eva Grinder and Cecilia Gregory.

Isaac is survived by his wife Francis of Kansas City, Kansas; Gail Wilson of Oregon; Janice Wright of Missouri; Robert Waters of Arizona; Yolanda (Danny) Vega of Kansas City, Kansas; Vonda (Mike) Lopez, of Arizona; Isaac C. Holmes (Terry) of Atlanta, Georgia; Robert (Bobbie) Jackson; two sisters, Eugenia (John) McBride of Kansas City, Missouri; and Jessie (James) Guess of Kansas City Kansas; a host of grandkids, great grandkids, and nieces, nephews and friends.
