Hugh Henry Sims, Jr. “JuneBug” was born July 10, 1951 to Hugh Sims and Lee Ella (Harris) Sims in Cleveland, Ohio.

Hugh attended Dunbar Elementary, Northeast Junior High, and graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1969.

Hugh wed Evalynn (Wynn) Parker and had two daughters. He worked for Owens Corning Fiberglass until 1973.  He then cut grass for many years until his injury.

Hugh answered the Master’s call on Wednesday November 22, 2017. During his time of illness, he humbly received God’s Grace and Mercy as he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior.

Preceding him in death his parents, Hugh Sims, Sr. and Lee Ella (Harris) Sims; brother, Earnest Lonnell Harris; brother, Clyde Sims; sister, Harriet Thomas; and special friend Becky Chinn.

Hugh leaves to cherish his memory his son, Marlon Chinn (Christina) of Kansas City, Kansas; two daughters, Venita Jenkins (Tony); and Veronica Wynn (Terry) both of Kansas City, Missouri; three sisters, Cheryl Easly (William) of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Patricia Wash (Earnest) of Kansas City, Missouri; and Kathryn Williams (James) of Kansas City, Kansas; three brothers, Michael Sims; Gregory Sims; and Anthony Sims all of the City; along with a host of grandchildren; family; and friends.
