Life’s Reflection

Henry Dale, AKA “Uncle Honey” was born March 28, 1921to the union of John Henry and Mamie Dale, in Benton, Mississippi.

Henry enlisted in the United States Army at Fort Devens, Massachusetts, and served his country honorably during World War II and The Korean War. He served approximately 17 years active service and 3 years Foreign and/or Sea Service.  When he separated from the Army, he worked at Cans Restaurant alongside his sister, “Baby Rae”.

He moved to Huntsville, Alabama, there he owed and operated a dinner club named after his first wife “Adell’s Supper Club”.  There he booked artists such as B. B. King and Bobby Blue Bland.  It was there he reunited with two of his siblings, Lillian and Jack.  He later moved to Kansas City, to live a very independent life until his late 80’s; at that time, he was under the care of his niece, Michelle with the aid of other nieces.

In 1987, he met and married Hattie M. Ingrams and to this union there were no children.

Those who knew “Uncle Honey” will testify he lived life to the fullest and enjoyed his family, friends, and a good conversation.  He was truthful, and sometimes straight up honest.  He loved ending stories with word “EXACTLY”.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Hattie M. Ingrams; siblings, Mary Dale (Jimmie); J. W. Dale (Patty); John Dale (Bertha); Walter Dale; Ella Rae Dale; Lillian Dale (Bobbie); and Dearest Matthews.

He leaves to mourn his passing two brother, William Dale (Ruth) of Chicago, Illinois; and Jack Dale (Geneva) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; a host of nieces; nephews; special relatives; cousins; and dear friends.  All who will cherish his memory.
