Harriett Helen Sims, 67, was born July 4, 1950 to Hugh Sims and Lee Ella (Harris) Sims in Cleveland, Ohio.
Preceding her in death her parents, Hugh Sims; and Lee Ella Sims; her husband, Alonzo Thomas, III; brother Earnest Lonnell Harris; and Clyde Sims.
Harriett attended Dunbar Elementary; Northeast Junior High; and graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1968.
Harriett began her career at Hallmark as Administrative Assistant, from there worked at an Airline as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor, while living in California, from there she worked as a Networked Analyst at Sprint, where she retired February of 2016.
Harriett was baptized at an early age. She was a former member of Shiloh Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Steven Marion Ray. She was a current member of New Fellowship Baptist Church, where she was involved in the Esther Circle, Sunday School Teacher, Mission Department and Financial Department.
Harriett answered the Master’s call on Friday July 28, 2017at home surrounded by loved ones.
Harriett leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Brandon Thomas of Kansas City, Kansas; three sisters, Cheryl Easly (William) of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Patricia Wash (Earnest) of Kansas City, Missouri; and Kathryn Williams (James) of Kansas City, Kansas; four brothers, Hugh Sims, Jr.; Michael Sims; Gregory Sims; and Anthony Sims all of the City.
