Godfrey Bryan Sese, 50, began his heavenly journey on July 9. 2018 after passing away unexpectedly at Life Care Center in Kansas City, Kansas. Godfrey was born on October 1, 1967 in Kansas City, Missouri to Beverly A. Norman and Rudolph F. Sese.
Godfrey accepted Christ early in 1979 and fellowshipped at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kansas.
Godfrey grew up in Kansas City, Kansas and was educated in the Kansas City, Kansas School District. Godfrey graduated from Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, Kansas in 1985.
Godfrey attend Bethel College in Newton, Kansas for a year before transferring to Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas. Godfrey received a Bachelor’s Degree of Applied Science in Journalism.
Godfrey’s professional career began at WDAF TV 4 as an Editor. He was next employed by the Wyandotte County Juvenile Detention Center as a Juvenile Care Professional for several years. Godfrey’s next career choice was working for Toyota Financial Corporate Services in Management. Godfrey’s journey had him relocating to Atlanta, Georgia and New Jersey before his health declined. Godfrey loved his job and his co-workers as it allowed him to travel to many parts of the United States and make many friends along the way.
Godfrey was a man who was tall in stature but gentle in spirit with a kind heart. Godfrey was quick to engage in all forms of conversations concerning sports, especially Kansas City Chiefs and anything related to Kansas State. Godfrey was also a lover of Old School 80’s, 90’s and Contemporary Gospel music. He was quick to crack jokes and accept jokes as well. Godfrey had no enemies. He enjoyed food and traveling but the one thing he was most adamant about was having “good credit.” He will be missed by many family and friends.
Godfrey was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly A. Norman; father, Rudolph Sese; brother, Rufus Sese; sister, Jennifer Farnan; special cousin and caregiver, Felicia Neal-Burns and cousin Jamie L. Reed-Abernathy.
Godfrey is survived by his uncle, Lemuel Norman, Sr. (Frankie) of Kansas City, Kansas; aunt, Anita Reed of Kansas City, Missouri; brothers, Sylvester Sese of Kansas City, Missouri; Robert Sese of Euless, Texas; Richelieu Sese (Michele) of Independence, Missouri; and Rudy Jiles of Boonville, Missouri.
Godfrey also leaves behind a host of cousin, nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
