Evelyn was born May 26, 1914 in Kansas City, Kansas to John Edward Fryer and Ida Lene Gleaton Fryer.
Evelyn grew up in Kansas City, Kansas, she graduated from Sumner High School in the class of 1932. After high school she attended Kansas City Kansas Junior College, where she received an Associate Degree in Academic Studies.
She began her career with The Boiler Makers Union as an Executive Assistant where she retired after thirty-five years of loyal service. She was also involved with The Catholic Charities, The Niles Home, and The United Way.
Evelyn was a member of St. Louis Parish in Kansas City, Missouri. She enjoyed sewing, reading, and walking, she received several awards for working with the youth at her Church.
Evelyn married William Valentine in 1944 in Kansas City, Kansas, they were happily married for thirty-five plus years.
Evelyn G. Valentine, 103 years old passed away on May 22, 2018 at Shangra-La Nursing Facility in Blue Springs, Missouri.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Valentine; her brother, Ronnell Fryer; and two brothers who died at birth.
Evelyn G. Fryer Valentine is survived by son, Mark Collier (Renee’) of Kansas City, Missouri; daughter, Robin Scott (Roger) of Kenner, Louisiana; her sister, Eddie Mae Ross and her daughter, Harriet Jones of Los Angeles, California; her grandchildren, Corey; Toya; Stephanie; Stevie; and Christopher; Jacorey ; India; Jayden; Skyer; and John Jones; Ronnella Fryer and her daughter, Minion; Richard; Roxanne; and Reginald Tally; Marc A. Collier; Likita Rechelle Hughes (Dwayne); Sonya Renee Vann; Andre Quarles (Marisa); her nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
