Life’s Reflection

Ella Mae Page Simmons was born July 10, 1929 in Atchison, Kansas to the union of Arthur Lee and Pauline Irving Taylor.

At the age of two she was moved to Spiro, Oklahoma where she was placed in the foster care of the late Elder Marshall Page and wife Maggie Page.

Elementary and High School was completed at the Douglass Elementary and Douglass High School of Spiro, Oklahoma in 1947.

She converted at the early age of eleven years and served faithfully in her father’s church and other churches, working in many capacities.

In 1951, she moved to Kansas City, Kansas where she met and married the late Chester H. Williams.  To this union ten children were born, four of whom preceded her in death.

She united with the Pentecostal Church in Kansas City.

In 1976, she met and married S. L. Simmons who also preceded her in death.

In 1989 she united with the Maratha Seventh Day Adventist Church having Elder N. Miller as pastor.  She served faithfully under other pastors of the church.

Ella worked as a Nurse at KU Medical Center for 22 years, and was a foster grandparent for the Wyandotte County Health Department for about 7 years.

Ella loved to knit and play the piano and organ in her spare time.

Ella always loved good company from her family, she loved them all dearly.  There was never a dull moment with her, she could light up a room with her cheerful heart and funny spirit.

Preceding Ella in death her husbands, Chester Williams; S.L. Simmons; and Andrew Hampton; son, Bobby Williams

She leaves to cherish her love and memory four sons, Butch; David; Donald; and Darryl; one daughter, Cheryl; a daughter in law, Joyce; grandchildren, Missy; Marcus; Jules; Miles; Libra; Levi; David, Jr.; Monique; Adrian; Bobby Joe; Jason; Terrell; Crystal ; Christopher; and Donald, Jr.; a host of great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
