Edith Marie (Washington) White

Home Going Celebration

Edith Marie White 61 passed away November 28, 2017 at her home in Kansas City, Kansas surrounded by loved ones.

She was born August 13, 1956 in Butler, Missouri to Mr. and Mrs. William Washington.  Edith grew up in Butler, Missouri where she attended school and graduated from Butler High School.

Edith met and married Jessie James Goodwin, Jr. to this union five children were born Jessie, III; Michael; De’Andre’; LaTasha; and Candance Goodwin. They were happily married for forty-five years.

She was a hard and loyal worker, she was employed at J. C. Penny’s where she worked in Shipping and Receiving Department for nineteen years

Edith loved and enjoyed taking care of her family, grilling (she love to fire up the grill), cooking, reading and just being a wonderful wife and mother.

She enjoyed taking classes online, receiving certificates for, criminal Justice, Business Management, Criminal Investigation, and Criminal Science. Edith loved the computer taking her classes, educating herself with all the knowledge that she could.

She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Jesseka Franklin.

Edith leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Jessie James Goodwin, Jr.; three sons, Jessie Goodwin, III (Dionne); Michael Goodwin; and De’Andre’ Goodwin; two daughters, LaTasha Goodwin; and Candance Goodwin; twenty-five grandchildren; sister in law and good friend, Arcelia Burns; a host of family and friends.
