Dexter Gene Hullaby, 52 passed away May 12, 2018 at his place of residence in Leavenworth, Kansas.
Dexter was born June 19, 1965 in Kansas City, Kansas to Travis Hullaby and Mattie McClatchey Hullaby. Dexter grewup in Kansas City, Kansas, where he attended and graduated from F. L. Schlagle High School class of 1983.
After high school, Dexter went on to serve his country as a United States Marine for a total of six years. He was the recipient of many certificates, rifle marksman, sea service deployment ribbon, two good conduct ribbons, meritorious mast, meritorious unit commendation, and a certificate of appreciation. Once he was discharged in the year of 1989, achieving the rank of Corporal. He began to work for the Kansas City, Kansas Public School District as a Custodian and Bus Driver for 10 years. He worked for New Wave Enterprise for over 30 years printing tee shirts for all occasions and events. He also worked as a Chauffeur for Vegas Limousine Kansas City for several years. He retired in 2016 due to his declining health.
In 1996, Dexter married Lenita Myers and they were happily married for 21 years.
Dexter was a member of Forest Grove Baptist Church. He enjoyed all sports and loved to make people laugh with his jokes. He was very light hearted and full of joy.
Dexter was preceded in death by his father, Travis Hullaby; stepmother, Lula Hullaby; one brother, Tristian Hullaby.
Dexter leaves cherish to his memories daughter, Jakila Hullaby of Kansas City, Kansas; mother, Mattie Hullaby of Kansas City, Kansas; four sisters, Kim; Carmen; Carla; Kelly Hullaby; two brothers, Christopher Hullaby (Tracy); and Kanan Hullaby all of Kansas City, Kansas; a host of nieces; nephews; and family and friends to continue to share their love for Dexter.
