I met Dell through my business and become good friends. We when to lunch often and through my business often.
Dell always had a smile on his face and was always dressed to the 9’s.
I took me shopping at Pener’s Men’s wear. I bought many of my clothes there. After my business closed I lost touch and recently thought of looking him up.
Unfortunately I was late in doing that.
My prayers and sympathy goes out to the family.

When I was employed by Business Men's Assurance Company, Del did the graphic design for the annual report. Working with him was a real pleasure! Del contributed to color blindness in a mighty way. I recall asking him about his weekend activities; his response: I polished the car and worked on my tan!! What a great man! May the peace that passes understanding be granted to his friends and family. You were blessed by Del's presence.

This photo was you in life. The way I'll always remember you. Thanks for being a great childhood friend, mentor and all around part of our experiences on 5th St and Leslie's Barbershop back in the day. Always sharp and respectful. Class til' the end. May God have a "tailored made suit and that smile waiting in heaven.

Dell was my classmate in the Sumner High School Class of 1959. He was liked by all. Dell was always a man of fashion. We will never forget his wonderful personality, thoughtfulness, compassion and willingness to share his talents with others.

I am the daughter of Evelyn Sansing Townsend. You were one of my Mom's admired cousins. I will have to tell her of the family loss. We knew your Dad as mom's Uncle James. We are praying for the family and will try to communicate to the Godbold family.

"Please Dear God, I call to You and ask You: 'Hear my prayer.'
My wounds are deep and slow to heal; my load is hard to bear.
Despondent thoughts and disappointed hopes have left me weak.
O God of Comfort, care for me; Your Favor I do seek.
Do raise me up; help me endure.
When I'm in doubt, make my hope sure.
From deep despair, I turn to You.
Please Dear God, my strength renew."

Please accept my sincere condolences to the Godbold family. I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Dell. The Bible assures us at Psalms 34:18 that God is near to those broken in heart. May your many great memories help you find peace and comfort as you go through the coming days. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
