De’Rain Louis Mason, Sr.

On Wednesday morning September 13, 2107, Mr. De'Rain Louis Mason, Sr. stepped across the threshold of death, out of the fellowship of life into a room made by the Father in Heaven.

                Mr. Mason was born January 21, 1965 to Willie Anne Mason Shelby and Daniel Taylor in Chatom, Alabama. His formative years were spent in Alabama where he attended Baker High school before his family relocated to the Kansas City Metropolitan area where he attended Paseo high school in Kansas City MO and Kansas City Kansas Community College. Mr. Mason was employed at a variety places throughout the years.

Mr. Mason was an instrumental musician and song writer, an avid Raiders fan, collector of comic books and grill master. De'Rain never missed an opportunity to celebrate the birthdays of his family and friends, no holiday passed without him gathering family and friends to celebrate.

De’Rain was preceded in Death by his father Daniel Taylor and sister Beverly Price

De'Rain leaves to cherish his memories a devoted friend Kandi Weisensee, His mother Willie Anne Shelby, four sons; De'Rain Mason II (Alexander), Jaylan Mason, DeVante Mason, Makaveli Mason, Three daughters; Sabrina Mason (Darius), Jasmine Duncan, Ashanti Weisenesee. Four Grandchildren; Four brothers; Carlos James (LaVita) of Kansas City, Lawrence Holcomb of Japan, Alfred Dozier, Austin TX, Labarion Taylor, Phoenix AZ. Two sisters; Jackie Henry Waynesboro MS, Andretta Poole, Birmingham, Al. Two aunts; Sally Vivian of Kansas City MO. and Bernice Bridges of Mobile, AL. Mother of his children Michelle of Kansas City, and Kali Brooks and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
