Daryl’s Story
Daryl James Evans entered this world, weighing 2 lbs. 15 oz. on August 25, 1963, to the union of Lonnie and Naomi Baker Evans. He was loved by all the nurses in the Neonatal unit at Bethany Hospital. His personality was nurtured during his stay.
Daryl accepted Christ at an early age at the Eighth Street Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kansas.
He attended schools in the Kansas City Public School District 500 and graduated in 1981 from
F. L. Schlagle High School. He continued his education at Kansas University in Lawrence, Kansas. Daryl possessed the gift of singing; a melodic voice and he was formally trained at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music. He enjoyed singing and sharing his gift of song. Over the years, Daryl worked in various companies. His last employment opportunity was at the Ford Motor Company in Claycomo, Missouri.
The joy of his life was his son, D’Marcus N. Evans. He was dearly loved by his relatives and friends alike. He never met a stranger. He exuded charm unmeasured possessing the gift of gab.
Daryl transitioned from his earthly home, April 17, 2018.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lonnie Evans, paternal grandparents, Charleston and Theola Evans; maternal grandparents, Parr Browning, Jr. and James and Esther Glover, and several uncles and aunts.
He leaves to cherish his memory, son, D’Marcus N. Evans; mother, Naomi Evans; paternal uncle, Charleston Evans; maternal aunt, Jennifer Callowich; maternal great-aunt, Beulah Thomas; special friend, Eudora Douglas; and a host of cousins and friends.
