Charles Lehon Vann Jr. was born on February 12, 1964 in Pittsburg, Kansas to Charles L. Vann Sr. and Phillistine E. Berger Vann.
Charles grew up in Pittsburg, Kansas he graduated from Pittsburg High School in Pittsburg, Kansas in 1982. After high school, he attended Trade School at Pittsburg State University where he received his Associates Degree in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
Charles moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1984, where he began his career working for A.B. May as a Service Technician. After he left A.B. May, he changed his career path and worked as a Security Officer. In 1999, he began working for Sunshine Lighting Company as a trained Service Technician. He ended his career at Unigard as a Security Officer.
Charles married Tina Schober September 7, 1988 in Kansas City, Missouri. They were married for 30 years. Charles enjoyed spending time with his family, and he was known for his big caring heart, love for his family and always smiling.
Charles passed away on June 26, 2019 at NorthCare Hospice House in North Kansas City, Missouri. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends and community.
Charles was preceded in death by his mother, Phillistine E. Vann; his maternal grandparents, Wilbur and Naomi Berger; his paternal grandparents, Harry and Peggy Vann.
Charles is survived by his sister, Myrtle E. William; his two nieces, Melisa A. Covey and Makayla D. Williams; his great nephew, Marcus A. Covey and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
