Bennie Gipson Obituary

Life Reflections

Bennie Gipson was born August 30, 1937 in Greenville, Mississippi to Willie Gipson and Thelma Striver-Gipson.  He was educated in the Western Line School District in Mississippi.

Early in Bennie’s life he joined and served in the United States Army and developed his electrical skills.  After his active duty, he returned to Greenville and worked as an electrician with Young Electric.  He later took his technical talents to Kansas City, Kansas and was employed by Walker Electric until he retired.  The work didn’t stop there because he would complete electrical services for family and his community when needed.

Bennie confessed his hope in Christ at an early age.  He always made sure to help others whenever he could.  He furthered his growth in Christianity by joining St. Stephen Baptist Church in Kansas City, Missouri.  He was a loyal member for over forty years.  He became active with the male choir where he served as Vice-President until his health declined.

Bennie was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Gipson and Thelma Gipson, his sister, Willie Mae Gipson and his brother, George Gipson.

He leaves to cherish his memories: one daughter, Natascha Pittman, Byram, Mississippi; one granddaughters, Natori Pittman, Byram, Mississippi; one sister, Ethel Lee Hardy, Amarillo, Texas; one sister-in-law, Geraldine Gipson, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family, Anthony Roberts, Vincent Roberts, Sheryl Barnes, Terri Ivy , Joann Ivy, Annette Wilson, and a loving and devoted caregiver, Claudette Roberts.
