Barbara Annette White passed away on August 20, 2017 from congestive heart failure. She was 57 years old. Barbara was born on April 16, 1960 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Tessie and Willie White. Barbara attended Kansas City, Kansas public schools and graduated from Sumner High School in 1978.
Barbara was loving, full of life and very innovative. She was a self-taught carpenter and a natural craftswoman who had a passion for refurbishing old homes and furniture. Barbara was always known for being the life of the party with a vibrant spirit that could light up any room. Her keen sense of humor coupled with her feisty demeanor is what she will be remembered for the most. Barbara enjoyed playing and spending time with her six beautiful grandchildren, whom she adored tremendously. Barbara worked as a Site Manager at Public Storage prior to her death.
Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Willie D. White; and her brother, Willie James White.
She is survived by her son, Darus (Diamond) Mebane, of Kansas City, Kansas; her daughter, Ebonie (Tarold) Davis, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; her brothers, Curtis White of Kansas City, Kansas; Kenneth White of Higginsville, Missouri; Lester White of Kansas City, Kansas; Milton White of Kansas City, Missouri; and Darrell White of Belleview, Nebraska; her sister, Gwendolyn (Anthony) White of Kansas City, Kansas; her grandchildren, Aliyah Mebane; Eliza Mebane; Darius Mebane; Tarold Davis Jr.; Tyler Davis; and Teylor Davis; her significant other, Kenneth Thomas; several nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
