Life’s Reflection
Andre’ Lendell Edwards, 48 passed away on May 13, 2019 at St Luke’s Hospital CICU. Andre’ was the oldest of six children. Andre’ was born on February 25, 1971 in Kansas City Kansas and was the oldest of six children born to Grover C. Edwards III and Patricia Davis Edwards. Andre’ grew up in Kansas City, Kansas and was educated in the Kansas City, Kansas School District and graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1989.
Andre’ professed his faith in Christ at an early age at the Salem Baptist Church in Kansas City Kansas. As an adult Andre’ became a member of the Second Missionary Baptist Church in Grandview, Missouri and assisted from time to time in the Video /Audio Ministry. Andre’ held a number of jobs after high school, but his most favorite employment was with Costco Wholesale of Kansas City, Missouri. Andre’ was one of the original Costco employees at the store on Linwood Blvd in Kansas City, Missouri from the time the Linwood store open their doors almost 20 years ago until his retirement in 2019. Andre’ has worked in almost every department in the Costco Linwood store from sales in electronics to optical and had no complaints in any of the departments he was assigned to, above all he loved his Costco family and co-workers.
Andre’ also known as “Dre” was quite a GQ when it came to style and dressing in which he did very well. Dre enjoyed spending his time with his children, grandchildren, and family. Dre was also, a big fan of the Kansas City, Chiefs, the NBA Lakers, and the KU Jayhawks Basketball Team.
Andre’ was precede in death by his grandparents; Grover Cleveland Edwards II; Anna Mae Godbold and Imogene Davis Barnett; uncles, Willie Godbold and Dale Godbold; cousin, Jeffrey Davis; and nephew, Jordan Williams.
Andre’ is survived by his son, Andre’ Edwards Jr. of Kansas City, Missouri; daughter, Cassiah Renee Perkins of Kansas City, Missouri; his grandson, Jaylen Edwards of Raytown, Missouri; granddaughter, Dani Edwards of Raytown, Missouri; his parents, Patricia Davis Edwards of Grandview, Missouri; Grover Cleveland Edwards III of Kansas City, Kansas; sibling, Daryl Edwards of Kansas City, Kansas; Jeron and Khadijah Edwards of Raytown, Missouri; Aledra Edwards of North Kansas City, Missouri; Grover Cleveland Edwards IV of Olathe, Kansas; Patrick Edwards of Grandview, Missouri; his uncles, Derrick “Rickey” Edwards of Kansas City, Kansas; Terrance “Terry” Edwards of Kansas City, Kansas; Elder Dennis Butler of Kansas City, Kansas; his aunts, Portia Brown-Miles of Kansas City, Missouri; Robin Herns of Kansas City, Kansas; Pamela Davis of Independence, Missouri; Celcila Davis of Lee Summit, Missouri and Dorothy Brown of Lee Summit, Missouri; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
