TERRANCE MCCLEVELAND Obituary

Terry was born on September 3, 1965, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Michael Garner and Beverly Darby, both who preceded him in death.

Terry graduated from Classen High School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1984. He obtained scholarships for basketball and football from all over the country but chose to accept Oklahoma State University.

Terry never met a stranger. If you knew Terry, he was a comedian, amateur, at that but he was hilarious. He was the life of the party. Wherever Terry was, there was laughter and entertainment. Anyone who met him called him their friend.

His family was particularly important to him, and he would “throw hands” if necessary. He was a protector and provider to those he loved.

Terry worked as a Butcher/Meatcutter supervisor for 35 years. He was very meticulous when it came to the process of handling and purchasing meat. He would make sure you picked the right cut of steak. He was immensely proud to be the lead supervisor/trainer at Dean & Deluca Grocers.

Terry performed handy work for a dear friend, Mrs. Shields. He also worked in custodial engineering for the USD 500 School district until he retired.

Terry accepted Christ as his personal savior at the age of sixteen. After life took different turns, Terry rededicated his life to Christ. He gained knowledge of what it took to live a more spiritual life.

Terry met and fell in love with his fiancé, Muriel Gray. Muriel showed Terry the love of God, agape love, until the end of his life. She loved Terry until his last breath and heartbeat. We, the family, are truly appreciative of the way she loved our brother.

Before his passing, Terry had begun to establish a stronger relationship with his son Phillip.  He would often facetime his grandchildren, which brought great joy to both the kids and Terry.

He leaves to cherish his memories: Bonus parents; John Thierry and Romain Kenner. Four sisters; DaVida Daniels (James), Tamara Thierry, Tawala Garner and Malenga Garner-Ransburg. Four brothers; Derrance McCleveland, Maurice L. Scruggs, Jr., Michael A. Garner, Jr. and Patrick M. Garner, Eight children; Terrance McCleveland, Jr., Phillip McCleveland (Allison), Anthony Grewell, Taylor Palin, Matthew Seaward, Tenessia Moffett, Terrance Vidal Weathersby and Terrain McCleveland, Six grandchildren; Camryn, Genesis, Trinity, Richard, Jesse and Shiloh along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
