Duwan LeVar Hardge, 44, passed away on March 21, 2024, at Kansas City Hospice House. He was born on July 28, 1979, in Kansas City, MO to James Mckinzie and Sharion Hardge.
He became a Boy Scout at age 7 and was an active member well into his teens.
At age 8, Duwan’s grandmother became his bowling coach. He loved to bowl and participated in several tournaments over a ten-year span. One of the teams' names was Three Wings and a Biscuit.
As a member of Centennial UMC, Duwan participated in the summer youth program, choir, and Hospitality Committee, just to name a few.
He graduated from Van Horn High School in Kansas City, MO in 1997. After High School he attended Penn Valley Community College and UMKC in Kansas City, MO where he received an associate degree in engineering and a Liberal Arts degree.
Duwan's true passion was cooking. He specialized in smoking and grilling. He could cook almost anything. Let him tell it, he was a "culinary genius."
He was a serial entrepreneur. Duwan started and owned several businesses ranging from catering to construction. He was never afraid to try something new.
Duwan married Deyonna in 2005. He was a very active dad and loved his family dearly.
Duwan was preceded in death by his father James Mckinzie. Duwan is survived by his spouse Deyonna; his children Victory, Isaiah, and Xander; his mother Sharion Hardge and grandmother Jannie Marshbanks, all of Kansas City, KS; his sisters Alisa Mckinzie of Kansas City, MO and Yolanda (Joe) Mason of Jacksonville, FL; and a host of other relatives and friends.
