Miss Zakkiyya Lewis was born August 26, 1975 to the union of Yusuf Mohammad and Melbra Perkins Lewis in Chicago, Illinois.
Zakkiyya Lewis was known as “Kia” to all who knew and loved her.
She accepted Christ at a early age under the leadership of Pastor Charles Morgan at Paradise Baptist Church.
Kia attended the Kansas City, Kansas Public School District and later getting her G.E.D., later attending Donnelly College where she received her Associate Degree.
Kia was an avid Chief Fan, she enjoyed cooking, entertaining in her home; singing and dancing. (Although her baby sister said she could not dance)
She was previously employed at J.C. Penney in the call center.
Kia was preceded in death by her sister, Elisshia Lewis, maternal grandmother, Arra Jane Perkins, maternal grandfather, George R. Perkins, Sr.;(3) uncles, George R. Perkins, Jr., Arra Boyd Perkins and Lethel Perkins; (2) aunts, Garnice Hicks and Mabel Mitchell; paternal grandfather, George Lewis, Jr.
Kia leaves to cherish her loving memories; her children; (2) sons; Marquall Burks and Deontah Miller; (4) daughters; DaiJanay Stallings, K’yana Morris; identical twins; Kadyn M. Lewis and Kaliyah M. Lewis; her mother, Melbra Perkins Lewis; father, Yusuf Muhammad; sisters; Mia Lewis, Shaliece Lewis, brothers, Omar Lewis, Sr., Akba Lewis, paternal grandmother, Leola Davis; step brothers and sisters, Zena, George , Curtis and Vicki Lewis; a host of other relatives and friends.
