Sandra Marie Hussey

Sandra Marie Darden Hussey was born Sunday, December 2, 1945 in Kansas City, Kansas, to the late Ulysses Darden and Willa Dee Sanders Reed. Sandra graduated in 1963 from Sumner High School, Kansas City, KS. She departed this life on Monday, May 8, 2017.

Sandra chose to give her life to Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Trinity African Methodist Episcopal Church, Kansas City, Kansas.  She loved helping others, sewing, playing dominoes, gin rummy, and listening to gospel and jazz music.  Sandra doted on her family and friends.  Her witty and charismatic personality brought a smile and laughter to every person she encountered. She will be known for and remembered by having the most vivacious spirit one can have.

Sandra was proceeded in death by her parents, Ulysses Darden and Willa Dee Sanders Reed; her sister, Margaret Anderson; and her grandson, Jordan Brooks.

Sandra leaves to cherish her sweet memory, her two living siblings, Barbara Jordan-Estell and Don Reed (Sharon) of Kansas City, Kansas; her four kids, Michelle Darden Polk (Eugene), Melvin Brooks, Robin Y. Darden of Kansas City, Kansas, and Robert D. Hussey Dallas, Texas.  She also leaves to cherish her memory, her four living grandkids, LaShandra Darden, Gary Gillom, Nicole Scott, and Jasmine Mitchell of Kansas City, Kansas; six (6) great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
