ROBERT LEE LANKFORD, SR.

Robert Lee Lankford Sr, 76 passed away on April 21, 2017 at Golden Living Nursing Home in Edwardsville, Kansas. He was born on December 8, 1940 in Kansas City, Missouri to Lemeul Lankford and Opal Greer- Lankford.

Robert grew up in Kansas City, Kansas. He was a hard workingman of many jobs. He worked at Erman’s Corporation for 38 years (welding and scrapping trains), until he retired in 2008 followed by his illness, which completely halted his handy skills.

Robert married Lillian Pearl McCleveland Lankford in 1963 in Kansas City Kansas. They were happily married for over 46 years until her death in 2009. Robert enjoyed working on cars, taking long road trips to visit his family in California, watching movies, but nothing stood between the unconditional love he had for his Honda Gold Wing and entire family.

Robert was preceded in death by both parents, wife, one son Dennis Lee Lyons, three sisters Catherine (Cat), Miriam Pearl, Anna Betts, and one grandson Quintin Lee Lankford.

Robert is survived by one son Robert Lee Lankford, JR(Rashida)Kansas City Kansas, two daughters Lawana Lankford Kansas City Kansas, Quvana L. Chambers(Donald) Denver, three sisters Deloris Buchannan(Robert) San Pablo California , Henrietta Word Kansas City Mo, Jackie Betts Kansas City Mo, 14 grandchildren listed oldest to youngest Latasha, Dontrell, LaBray, Derrick, Latricia Pearl, D’Leon, Eddie, Aalim, Zakiyat, Ayele, Ajali, Zyhel, Calissa Lillian Rose, Cayla LeAnn, 8 great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
