Reflections of Lucky’s Journey

James L. Gant, Jr. (Lucky) passed away quietly and peacefully on Monday, May 17, 2016, in his home. 

Lucky was born on February 6, 1975 to the union of James L. Gant, Sr. and Martha Lee Bolden.  He was the only child born to this union.  Lucky was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents William and Eva Bolden, his paternal grandparents Elder and Louise Gant, his father James L. Gant, Sr., and a host of uncles and aunts on both sides of his family.

Lucky was educated in the KCK Public School system and was a lifelong KCK area resident.

Lucky was a member of New Life Deliverance Church under the guidance of Pastor Roy Wiley, and was baptized at an early age at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church.

Lucky leaves to cherish his memories his mother Martha Lee Bolden; aunts Anabelle Knox, Vickie Coker (John), Mary Katherine (Peggy) Price; his children Rico Logan, Brittney Sullivan, James L. Gant, III and Dominique James Gant; sisters Angela (Luther) and Tiffany Bolden, Aleea Brown, LaShante Harris, Theresa Nunley, and Resa Gant; brothers William, DeAndre and Emmanuel Harris; niece Veronica Hollins (Jarrod); nephew Trevonne Carter; great niece Tamia Hamilton; great nephew Jayson Hollins, a host of family and friends, and a host of extended family and friends.

Lucky will be truly missed.
