Celebration Of Life

On February 23, 1981, a beautiful gift from God blessed Vicki and David Jennings with a perfect little angle better known as “Jackie”.  She brought so much joy to both families and her smile was so contagious.  Anyone that came in contact with her would automatically start smiling.

Jackie received her education from the Kansas City, Kansas Public School System.  The desire to reach a higher education level led her to Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa.  She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree.  She worked at Apria Healthcare until her health began to fail.  She had a burning desire for cooking and collecting kitchen gadgets.  So, her business “Taste IT” was created.

Jayden and Jordan Berry her two sons were her life.  These boys gave her the daily strength to get up and move.  She made sure the boys were at school and actively involved in sports to keep them busy.  Her trust and faith on this health journey lead her to find a solid rock for her and the boys.  They joined Philadelphia Bible Church and this amazing Christian foundation was started for her family.

Jackie refused to let the ugly illness steal her joy!  She would tell you quickly; this is not “NO PITY PARTY”, “HEY LIFE IS NOT THAT BAD SO SUCK IT UP.”  She took the bitter with the sweet and continued to give that contagious smile throughout the good days and not so good days.  Little did she know that God chose her to be an inspiring instrument for others!

Jackie’s powerful will and determination was inherited from a strong mother, brother and a great circle of friends.  Jackie had no blood sister but Tierra Booth was as much a sister to her as if they were in the same family.  “Tierra, you have been a rock for Jackie and everyone knew the sincerity of your friendship.”  She had a group called “The Crew” made up of true friends that knew what to do and when to do it.

On May 28, 2016 Jackie married her soul mate Joseph Howard Dodds-Morton.  God made this union to create a flower of happiness for her to close the journey of an illness and now the circle of life is complete.

Jackie will be missed on this earthly side but she will remain in our hearts and lives forever.

Smile Jackie! Smile Jackie! God’s got you! Rest in Peace!!!!

Jackie leaves to cherish her precious memories, her husband, Joseph Howard Dodds-Morton; sons, Jayden Berry; and Jordan Berry; mother, Vicki K. Jennings; special father, John Brooks, Jr.; biological father, William D. Jennings (Felise); brother, Dr. Myron Davidson; grandmother, Charlotte Jennings; mother-in-law, Jo Marie Clark; sister-in-law, Juanita Gordon (Fred); special friend and sons father, Brian Berry; the crew and best friends, Tierra Booth; LaChina Johnson; and Alisha Thompson; a combined family of sisters, aunts, uncles, nephews, cousins and many friends.
