Ida B. (Mitchell) Reynolds

Reflections of Life

Ida B. Reynolds was born on September 12, 1929 the oldest of 13 children to Rev. Ben & Mrs. Pernella Mitchell, Sr. in Itta Bena, Mississippi. 

Ida was preceded in death by her husband, Willie B. Reynolds; her son, James Earl Reynolds; by her parents, Ben & Pernella Mitchell; her brother, Robert Mitchell; her sisters, Barbara Cade; and Lula Mae Blackman.

Ida was baptized at an early age accepting Christ as her Lord and Savior. 

Ida was employed for many years at Embassy Suites and Bethany Hospital.

Ida enjoyed family time with her children and grandchildren.  She loved her trips to Las Vegas and Boston, movies at the theater, and listening to R&B music specifically Marvin Gaye. She always had a ready smile and quick wit. She was a great cook and would feed everyone who visited her home.

Ida leaves to cherish her memories, daughters, Freddie Mueller (Peter), Boston, MA; Lillie Nesbitt, Kansas City KS; Barbara White (Kevin), Overland Park, KS; Modest Williams, Kansas City KS; sons, Willie “Bill” Reynolds; and Calvin Reynolds both of Kansas City KS; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Gloria Jean Erwin, Kansas City KS; Bennie L. Mitchell, Overland Park, KS; and brothers, Jack Mitchell; Ben Mitchell, Jr.; and Johnny Mitchell all of Kansas City KS; a host of nieces and nephews.
