Life’s Reflection
Florence Marie Carter-Hooks was born in Kansas City, Kansas on November 30, 1943 to Margaret Ferguson and William Carter.
Florence attended Sumner High School and graduated with the Class of 1961.
She was known for her kind heart, outgoing personality, beautiful spirit, encouraging words and beautiful smile. Florence was employed with TWA for several years and later on in life she worked as a Pre-school teacher at Sheltering Arms Learning Academy in Atlanta, Georgia. Florence moved to Atlanta, Georgia in September 2001 and was overly excited about her big move to a busy city.
Florence was a member of and attended Word of Faith Cathedral in Austell, Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Toni Jarmon; and sister, Glenda Carter.
Florence leaves behind her husband, Wardell Hooks, Sr.; daughters, Gina Davis; and Athena Watson; sons, Vincent Jarmon; and Tamboura Watson; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brother, Kenneth Carter; a special aunt, JoAnn Kendall; a special cousin, Jackie Browne; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
Visitation will be held Saturday December 5, 2015 from 9-11:00 A.M. at Strangers Rest Baptist Church 2052 N. 5th Street Kansas City, Kansas
Religious Service will follow at the Church at 11:00 A.M.
