Esther Mae (Rainey) Thomas

Life’s Reflection

Esther Mae (Rainey) Thomas 91, of Kansas City, Kansas went to be with Our Lord on November 17, 2016.  Esther was born February 6, 1925 to Samuel and Pearl (Johnson) Rainey. Aunt Esther met and married the love of her life, on April 20, 1946 in New York City.  To this union no children were born. But Esther had a host of nieces and nephews who loved her and she loved them.

We are sure everyone remembers her vinegar baths!!! Vinegar was Aunt Esther’s cure all.

Aunt Esther loved Church and a member of Church of God in Christ faith. She loved the Lord, and now she is resting in God’s Arms.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 52 years, all her siblings and a nephews Owen Floyd Morrison and George S. Rainey.

Aunt Esther leaves to cherish her memory, nieces, nephews, other family member and friends.

God Touched Her

God’s finger touched her and she slipped away

From earth’s dark shadows to a brighter day;

God saw the road was getting rough,

The hills were hard to climb;

She gently closed her weary eyes,

And whispered, “Peace be thine.”

To a beautiful garden this friend has gone,

To a land of perfect rest;

Though she is gone she still lives on

In the garden of memory.
