Reflections of Life

Eddie S. Freeman Jr. aka “Free”, was called to glory on June 20, 2016.

Eddie S. Freeman Jr. was born in Kansas City, KS to Eddie S Freeman Sr. and Levator (Harris) Freeman on November 17, 1957.  At an early age, Eddie made lifelong friends; giving the guys in the neighborhood “the pole”, they were then initiated into a club called the “53rd St. Gang”.

Eddie attended F.L. Schlagle High School; prior to his graduation in 1976, he was recognized for his talented basketball skills, which earned him a scholarship to Longview Community College. Eddie continued his formal education at Emporia State University, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and also became a member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc.

During this time of his life, Eddie became a proud father of his first son, Mykel Freeman.

Shortly after graduating from Emporia State University, Eddie married  in June of 1981 and within that union, 3 children were conceived, Candice Freeman, Eddie S. Freeman, III aka “Trey”, and Wesley Freeman.

In 1993, Eddie “Free”, relocated to Saint Louis where he became a productive and dedicated member of the Chrysler Corporation. While in St. Louis, Eddie received his Master’s Degree in Corporate Finance from Fontbonne University. A few years later, Eddie was then transferred to the Chrysler Corporation in Detroit, Mi. where he also met and married his current wife Terrie Lynne Freeman, their marriage succeeded until his passing.

Eddie S Freeman Jr. “Free” is survived by his parents Eddie S Freeman Sr. and Levator (Harris) Freeman; his wife, Terrie Lynne Freeman, Four children, Mykel Freeman, Candice Freeman, Eddie S Freeman III “Trey”, Wesley Freeman; nine siblings, Markham Freeman, Keith Freeman(Kathleen), Jeffrey Freeman, Bryan Elmore(Princess), Lorraine Williams, Lydell Livingston, Jirika Freeman, David Armstrong and Christy Bradford; And a slew of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

Family was the most important part of his existence.  He had a great love for life and touched everyone that he encountered. If wealth could be counted by the number of friends you made, Eddie S. Freeman, II, aka “Free” would be a billionaire.

“If life gave you lemons, Eddie wouldn’t make lemonade, he would create a small business, where you were importing and exporting lemons with foreign nations and charging them interest”

He will greatly be missed.
