Clara Mae (Pierce) Porter

Life's Reflection

Clara M. Porter, 76 passed away on May 9, 2017 in her home surrounded by family and friends in Kansas City, Kansas. Clara was born June 30, 1940 to Virgina Toliver Edwards Pierce and Willie L. in Boley, Oklahoma.

Clara went to Boley High School in Boley, Oklahoma.  She moved to Kansas City, Kansas and worked for Gene Dryer as a nanny for 35 years.  She retired in 2013.  Clara loved birds, flowers and enjoyed listening to gospel music.

Clara was preceded in death by parents, Willie and Virgina Pierce and seven siblings.

Clara leaves to cherish her memories her children, Robert and Darlene Porter, Richard Crawford, Sheldon W. Porter, Karen and Vincent Simonton and Vernetta Pierce; sisters and brothers, Charlesetta Washington, Benjamin Pierce, David Pierce, Walter, and Patricia Pierce; 22 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.  A host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
