 Life’s Reflection

God saw that she had run a good race and her earthly work was finished.  On Saturday, August 22, 2015 our Almighty Father gently closed the eyes of his beloved servant and sent an angel from heaven to carry her home to her eternal resting place.

Charline M. Genchan was born to the late Urel Sr. and Veola Gibson in Little River County, Arkansas on September 26, 1924. Charline was raised in a Christian home and accepted Christ at an early age.

Her elementary and secondary education was completed at the Little River County Training School in 1942. After graduation, Charline moved to Kansas City and found work in the retail industry. Later, she found her life’s passion in the medical field. She obtained her License Practical Nursing Degree (LPN) and worked over 25 years at Menorah Medical Center.

Charline was united in holy matrimony to John L. Genchan on October 24, 1946.  To this union three daughters were born.  She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

After retirement, Charline was able fulfill her desire for travel.  She saw the sights of Hawaii¸ Puerto Rico, Panama and Alaska. She cooked fabulous meals, and was known for her sweet potato pies and pound cakes. During the cold winter months she enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, word find puzzles and dominoes.

Charline was an active member of Mason Memorial United Methodist Church for over 60 years.  She served as an usher, secretary of the administrative board, worked on various program committees and sang in the Adult Fellowship Choir.

In addition to her parents, Charline was preceded in death by her loving husband John L. Genchan and her beloved granddaughter Tiffany Danielle Genchan Carroll.
