Charles Curtis Blair
Charles Curtis Blair, 73, of Edwardsville, Kansas, lost his long fought battle, with Alzheimer’s disease on August 18, 2015 at Golden Living Center Parkway in Edwardsville, Kansas. He was born October 19, 1941, in San Angelo, Texas, to the late Elmo and Faye Blair (Turner-Moore).
Charles was very active in sports, particularly basketball, while attending San Angelo High School. He loved the game of golf by which he was an avid player. After high school graduation, he attended Donnelly College, Kansas City, Kansas and then Emporia State College, in Emporia, Kansas.
Charles was a long time employee of the Airline Industry. He stated his career, as crew analyst, for the Trans World Airlines (TWA), out of New York. He held many supportive and managerial airline positions, in the Middle East, and in various cities throughout the United States. He also was a Station Manager for DHL Corporation in Newark, New Jersey. Charles devoted his last active work years, as a Security Guard, in Kansas City, Missouri. After struggling with debilitating health problems, he became a resident of the Golden Living Center Parkway, Edwardsville, Kansas.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by a sister, Garetta Garrett, Waco, Texas; nephews, Leslie Blair, Houston, Texas; and Derrick Littles, El Paso, Texas.
Charles leave behind, his daughter, Lisa Crooms, two granddaughters, Jamese and Brittany Crooms, of Dallas, Texas; brother, John R. Blair of Smithfield, Virginia; sister, June Blair Williams of Lenexa, Kansas; nieces, April Williams of Lenexa, Kansas; LaKita Blair of Richmond, Virginia; and Lisa Robinson of Waco, Texas; aunts, Francie T. Mason of Newport News, Virginia; Frances Weekly of Kansas City, Missouri; and Opal Hampton of Pasadena, California; and a host of cousins; great nieces; great nephews; and friends will mourn his loss.
Charles thank you for being our brother, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend. You are loved and will be greatly missed.
