Catherine Roath Jones died peacefully on June 20, 2017. She was born on October 1, 1923 to Maglother Roath and Ruby Nathan in Kansas City, Kansas. She was the youngest child of the two born of this union.
She attended Stowe and Kealing Elementary Schools, Northeast Jr. High School, graduating from Sumner High School in 1941. She went to Nurses Training and became an LPN. She was a Nurse at several area hospitals in Kansas City, Missouri, she also taught health occupation at the Job Corp Center for 16 years in Excelsior Springs, Missouri.
She accepted Christ at a young age and had been a member of Trinity A.M.E. Church for over 90 years. She was always willing to serve in her church, until her health failed. She had taught Sunday School, and was President of the Usher Board, and served on the Missionary Board and the Stewardess Board.
Catherine was married to LaFead Greer, who preceded her in death. She later was married to Edward Jones they were married for thirty-two years, he also preceded her in death.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Maglother and Ruby; her sister, Mildred; and half-brother, Arthur Roath.
Catherine leaves to cherish her memory, two half-brothers, Maglother (Betty) and George (Angie); sister-in-law, Phyllis Roath; niece, Barbara Turner Campbell; other relatives and friends.
