Catherine Lee Belton was born October 28, 1934 to the union of John and Maggie Gossett Doyle. Her parents and siblings: John Wesley Doyle, Anderson Doyle, and Willie Mae Doyle French all preceded her in death.
Catherine attended schools in the Kansas City, Kansas School District, graduating from Sumner High School in 1952. She married Alfred H. Belton, Sr., in 1953. Together they had two children, Alfreda Dorene and Alfred H. Belton, Jr. Alfred passed away in 2002.
Catherine worked at the Deluxe Cleaners, Jayhawk Cleaners, Central Middle School Cafeteria, and as a Foster Grandparent in the Kansas City, Kansas Schools. Her entire life was spent living at 1953 N. Thompson Street, Kansas City, KS.
She was baptized at the Walnut Boulevard Baptist Church by the late Rev. M.J. Smith at an early age of 12. She was a 70-year member. Catherine was a member of the Mother’s Board, the Mission, Usher, and Culinary Ministries of the Church.
Catherine departed this life to join her loved ones in heaven on November 19, 2016.
She leaves to celebrate her memory, Alfreda Dorene (Anthony C.) Hutchingson; Alfred H. (Evette) Belton and Cecilia (Carl) Belton Anderson; grandchildren: Serita Belton, Ashley Hutchingson (Pierre McGill), Fiearra Mansaw, Anthony Hutchingson, Jr., and Alfred Belton III; great grandchildren: Jameer Smith, Jayvius Smith, Jaxon Talley, Anthony Cameron Hutchingson, and Jazzlyn Talley; her nephew, Thomas John (Deannea) French, and nieces, Linda M. (Kenneth Brown) French Chaplin and Winifred Diane (Phillip) Brown; sister-in-law, Aaron Doyle; and a host other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
