Caprice R. Jappa

Life’s Reflection

Caprice Raegene Jappa, 50, passed away from cancer on April 17,2016 at Kansas University  Medical Center in Kansas City,KS. She was born on December 18,1965 in Covington,Virginia to Walker and Doris [Blakey] Banks .

Caprice grew up in Champaign,Illinois. She graduated from Centennial High School in Champaign,Ill. in 1983. After high school she attended college at Parkland college in Champaign,Ill  and Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, where she  played basketball intercollegiately and also met her husband.

For the past nine years she worked for Kansas City, Kansas Public School System at Washington High School.

Caprice married James Jappa in 1992 in Champaign,Ill. They were happily married for 25 years.

Caprice was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.She enjoyed reading,gardening,sports & most of all helping others.

Caprice is survived by her parents; loving husband James Jappa, Jr. of KCK; her children, Ashley Jappa, James W. Jappa III of Kansas City, Kansas and Jontal High of Bedford.Texas; her  grandchild, Jaylin; her sister Adrienne [Banks] Hall  and a host of  other relatives and friends.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to her many friends, family, Kansas City Hospice ,Washington High School staff and students, Greater Faith Community Church and First Baptist Church.

A memorial service will be held at  Greater Faith Community Church, 2420 South 53^rd Lane, Kansas City, Kansas 66106; April 23, 2016 Visitation: 9:00 A.M.-1:00 A.M. Services at 11:00 A.M.Burial will followed at Highland Park Cemetery; 3801 State Ave, Kansas City, Kansas 66102.
